So the President goes to Green Bay for a town hall forum on health care reform, and two of the three TV networks (ABC and NBC; I didn’t see CBS) reported NOTHING about the health care discussion – showing instead only the cute little clip of Obama signing a “please excuse” note for the little girl who skipped school to attend.
Cute.
But where’s the beef?
As usual, not on the evening news.
Except that it was the lead story on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

Ill and Uninsured in Illinois
June 12, 2009 at 12:00 amPlease tell me why the disintegrating news media has taken to covering the fluff we can get anywhere instead of the meat that only trained, professional journalists can give us? It seems like they’ve all decided that if they can’t beat ’em, they might as well join them. I’ve been trying to follow the health-care bills in my state, but not one daily reported on their status at the end of the legislative session. I had to do my own reporting: http://illinillinois.blogspot.com/2009/06/springfield-on-health-care-reform.html
